- Amphetamine can be sniffed, taken orally in pill or capsule form or injected.
The Effects
- Amphetamine is a stimulant drug. It suppresses the appetite, gives feelings of increased energy, alertness, and confidence is heightened.
The Health Risk
- Psychological dependence can develop with regular use.
- Depression, paranoia, psychosis, increased blood pressure, weight loss, disturbanced sleep pattern, panic attacks and delusions can occure.
The Law
- Amphetamine is a Class B drug, unless prepared for injection which then changes it to a Class A drug.
- Class B drugs carry a maximum jail sentence of 5 years and/or an unlimited fine.
- Supplying a Class B drug carries a maximum jail sentence of 14 years and/or an unlimited fine.
- Possession of a Class A drug carries a maximum jail sentence of 7 years and/or an unlimited fine.
- Supplying a Class A drug can result in a life sentence and/or an unlimited fine.
